No. 3

Passed Jan.
7, 1844.

Resolution providing for the Repairs, &c, of the Govern-
ment House.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer be authorised and directed to pay out of any
unappropriated money in the Treasury, to the Governor
elect, or to his order, the sum of three thousand dollars, for
repairs and furniture for the Government House; provided,
: the articles purchased be as far as practicable of domestic
manufactures, and the handi-work of the artizans and me-
chanics of the State of Maryland.

Preamble.

Preamble and Resolution relative to Commander W. J.
Belt, of the United States Navy.

WHEREAS, at the last session of the General Assembly,
a preamble and resolution was passed, respectfully request-
ing the President of the United States, to reinstate Com-
mander W. J. Belt, to the station he held in the American
Navy, prior to the sentence of a court martial, in the year
eighteen hundred and forty-two: AND WHEREAS, the said
resolution did not request that a copy of the said preamble
and resolution should be forwarded to the President by the
Governor—Therefore,
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
His Excellency, the Governor, be requested to transmit to
the President of the United States, a copy of the said pre-
amble and resolution, and to ask his favorable considera-
tion thereof.

3, 1845.

Resolution in favor of the Members and Officers of the
Legislature.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is hereby
