C H A P. XXXIII.
An ACT for the benefit of Grafton Duvall, of Prince-George's
county.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition of Charles Duvall
guardian to Grafton Duvall, his grandson, that Thomas Baldwin, late of Prince-George's
county, deceased, by his last will and testament, devised to the aforesaid Grafton Duvall, a minor,
off the age of twelve or thirteen years, a small tract or parcel of land lying in the county aforesaid
called Walnut Hill Enlarged, containing fifty acres of land, more or. less, together with some slaves
and other property; that the slaves and other property have been sold by direction of the orphans
court of said county on a credit, the purchasers paying interest annually for the benefit of the lega-
tee: And whereas it is also represented, that the said land is destitute of wood, and very much
worn by long cultivation, and that it cannot be rented, or otherwise used to the advantage of the
minor, and the said Charles Duvall hath prayed that a law may pass, authorising a sale of said land,
and the facts stated in said petition appearing to this legislature to be true, therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful to and
for the said Charles Duvall to expose to public sale, on such credit as he may think most for the be-
nefit of the said Grafton Duvall, the said tract or parcel of land called Walnut Hill Enlarged, and
to execute a deed to the purchaser thereof, conveying all the right, title, claim and interest, of the,
said Grafton Duvall, of, in and to, the tract or parcel of land aforesaid; provided, that before the
said Charles Duvall shall proceed to sell the land aforesaid, he shall execute a bond to the state of
Maryland, in such sum, and with such security, as the orphans court of Prince-George's county
shall approve, with condition, that he, the said Charles Duvall, will annually account with the said
court for all sums of money received by him on account of the sale of said land, and that he will in
all things obey the order of the said court in the premises, which bond shall be recorded among the
records of Prince-George's county court, and upon such bond, or any office copy thereof, suit or
suits may be instituted for any breach or nonperformance of the condition of the same against the
obligors therein, or any of them.

III. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the deed executed as herein before directed, when recorded
among the land records of Prince-George's county, shall have the same effect; and operation as if the
said Grafton Duvall had been of full age, and had executed the same; provided however, that the
said Charles Duvall shall not execute the deed aforesaid until the sale to be made by him shall have
been confirmed by the orphans court of Prince-George's county.

C H A P. XXXIV.

An ACT to streighten the road leading into Howard-street in the
city of Baltimore.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by a number of inhabitants in the coun-
ty and city of Baltimore, that their convenience would be considerably promoted by streight-
ening the road from the north end of Howard-street, until it intersects what is called The Mill
Road at or near the ground of Elisha Tyson and George Grundy; and the prayer of the petition
being reasonable, therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Thomas Rutter, George Grundy and
Isaac Tyson, Isaac Philips and William Winchester, be and they are hereby appointed commission-
ers, to lay off, and cause to be surveyed, a road, commencing from the north end of Howard's-street
at the intersection of Franklin-street, and running from thence of the width of Howard-street, and
in the same direction, until it reaches the south corner of the poor-house ground, and from thence
of the width of sixty-six feet, towards Rutter's Ford, until it intersects the mill road at or near the
property of Elisha Tyson and George Grundy;

III. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty of the commissioners aforesaid, when they
shall have laid off and surveyed the road aforesaid, to return a plot, with a certificate of the, course
of the same, to the clerk of Baltimore county court, to be recorded, whose duty it shall be to re-
ceive and record the same among the records of Baltimore county,

IV. AND, whereas the said road, when opened, will pass through the ground belonging to the
poor-house of Baltimore county, and separate a small corner of the east end of the same, and there-
