SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-
sections (2) and (3) (B) AND (C) of Section 1, Chap-
ter 728, Laws of Maryland of 1949 so as to increase the
authorization to issue bonds for financing flood control
projects in Prince George's County by the Washington
Suburban Sanitary Commission from $500, 000. 00 to
$750, 000. 00, and by The Maryland-National Capital Park
and Planning Commission from $250, 000. 00 to $500, -
000. 00, AND MAKING MANDATORY CERTAIN PRO-
VISIONS, CONTINGENT UPON APPROPRIATIONS
BY THE UNITED STATES.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sub-sections (2) and (3) (B) AND (C)
of Section 1, Chapter 728, Laws of Maryland of 1949 be and
they hereby are repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

(B) WHENEVER AN APPROPRIATION SHALL
HAVE BEEN MADE BY THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA FOR THE CONSTRUCTION IN WHOLE OR
IN PART OF ANY PROJECT FOR FLOOD CONTROL
IN THE VALLEY OF THE ANACOSTIA RIVER IN
THE VICINITY OF BLADENSBURG AND ADJACENT
COMMUNITIES IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY,
MARYLAND THEREUPON THE COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, THE
WASHINGTON SUBURBAN SANITARY COMMISSION
AND THE MARYLAND NATIONAL CAPITAL PARK
AND PLANNING COMMISSION ARE AUTHORIZED
AND DIRECTED TO ISSUE BONDS AS HEREIN-
