"Howard County", said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 297A, to follow immediately after Section 297 of said
Article, and to be under the new sub-title "Stock Car
Racing", relating to the payment of an annual license
fee for conducting an establishment for stock car racing
in Howard County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Howard County", said new section
to be known as Section 297A, to follow immediately after
Section 297 of said Article, to be under the new sub-title
"Stock Car Racing", and to read as follows:
Stock Car Racing
297A. Each person, firm or corporation, resident or non-
resident, operating in Howard County an establishment for
the racing of motor vehicles known as stock cars and
charging an admission fee to spectators at such races shall
pay for the privilege of conducting such establishment an
annual license fee of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars
($250. 00) It shall be the duty of the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Howard County to issue such licenses upon the
payment of the annual license fee and One Dollar ($1. 00)
which shall be retained by said Clerk as a fee of his office.
SUCH LICENSES SHALL BE ISSUED BY THE COUN-
TY COMMISSIONERS OF HOWARD COUNTY UPON
THE PAYMENT OF THE ANNUAL LICENSE FEE,
THE ENTIRE PROCEEDS OF WHICH SHALL BE
PAID INTO THE GENERAL FUNDS OF HOWARD
COUNTY.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
