the time this Act is passed. Said Register of Wills shall
continue to receive the salary theretofore received by him
during the period for which he was elected. Any change
in salary made as a result of this Act shall take effect
from and after the beginning of the term of the Register
of Wills in Washington County who was elected to that
office in November, 1954.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 436
(Senate Bill 441)

AN ACT to repeal Section 156 of Article 41 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Governor
—Executive and Administrative Departments", sub-title
"Hall of Records Commission", and to enact in lieu
thereof, a new section to said Article to be known as
Section 156 and to stand in the place and stead of the
section so repealed, providing that every State Agency
shall establish a continuing program for management of
its records, and for the disposal of its records, and
further providing that it shall be the duty of the Hall
of Records Commission to supervise said management
and disposal and to review and make recommendations
concerning said management.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 156 of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Governor—Executive and
Administrative Departments", sub-title "Hall of Records
Commission", be and it is hereby repealed, and that a new
section to be known as Section 156 of said Article, be and
it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof and all to read as
follows:

156.

(a) It shall be the duty of each State agency to develop
a continuing program for the economical and efficient man-
