(Senate Bill 372)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County
(1948 Edition), being Article 3 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore County, " sub-
title "Circuit Court, " sub-heading "Court Stenogra-
phers, " providing that the annual salary of the Court
stenographers for Baltimore County shall be fixed as
the Court may direct and further providing for the
manner in which said salary shall be paid.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
That Section 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Baltimore County (1948 Edition), being Article 3 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore
County, " sub-title "Circuit Court, " sub-heading "Court
Stenographers, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
10. The Circuit Court for Baltimore County be and it
is hereby authorized to employ two (2) Court Stenogra-
phers, who shall be sworn officers of the Court, and in
addition to the other duties provided by law, they shall
perform such stenographic and secretarial work as the
Court or any member thereof may require; and the said
stenographers so appointed shall receive such salary [,
not exceeding Three Thousand ($3, 000. 00) Dollars per
annum] as the said Court may direct in writing to be paid
each of them by the County Commissioners SUBJECT TO
APPROVAL BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS [in
regular monthly installments] as the bailiffs of said Court
are now paid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
