CHAPTER 424

(Senate Bill 362)

AN ACT to repeal Section 34 (b) of Article 33 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), Title,
"Elections", Sub-title, "Registration", said Section re-
lating to the requirement that the Police Department
of Baltimore City make a bi-annual canvass of the
inhabitants of Baltimore City over twenty-one years
of age and to report thereon to the Board of Election
Supervisors of said City.

WHEREAS, the public safety and convenience of Baltimore
City requires that the Police Department of Baltimore
City be relieved of non-police duties; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
That Section 34 (b) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), Title, "Elections", Sub-title,
"Registration", be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 425
(Senate Bill 368)

AN ACT to add a new section and sub-title to Article 9
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Charles County", to be known as Section
227A, under the new sub-title "Parole Board", and to
follow immediately after Section 227 of said Article,
authorizing the creation of a Parole Board in Charles
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
