CHAPTER 36
(Senate Bill 71)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 365, 366 and 369 of Article 8
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Cecil County", sub-title "Port Deposit",
said sections relating to the assessment and collection
of taxes in the town of Port Deposit.

WHEREAS, State-wide assessment laws now provide that
municipal corporations shall adopt the assessments as
determined by county officials and also that delinquent
town taxes shall be certified to the county tax collector for
collection, thereby making obsolete the provisions of Sec-
tions 365, 366 and 369 of the charter of the town of Port
Deposit; now therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 365, 366 and 369 of Article 8 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cecil
County", sub-title "Port Deposit", be and they are hereby
repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

Approved March 9, 1953.


CHAPTER 37
(Senate Bill 74)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
409 of Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cecil County", sub-title
"Rising Sun", as said section was amended by Chapter
571 of the Acts of 1949, and to repeal Section 410 of
said Article and sub-title, bringing the assessment laws
of the town of Rising Sun into conformity with State-
wide laws.
