Somerset and Wicomico Counties prior to the time at which
this Act becomes effective, be and the same is hereby vali-
dated and confirmed in all respects as made and the action
of any local official or officials concerned with the distribu-
tion and disposition of any such fine or fines is also ratified
and confirmed.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 318
(House Bill 204)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
206 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Dog Licenses
in the County", relating to the appraisers of damages
caused by dogs and to the duties of such appraisers.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 206 of Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-
title "Dog Licenses in the County", be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
206. When any inhabitant of any county shall have any
sheep, poultry or livestock destroyed or injured by a dog
or dogs, he may apply to any Trial Magistrate [Justice of
the Peace] of said county, who shall appoint three dis-
interested persons as appraisers to view and appraise the
damages by him sustained, at least one of said appraisers
shall be a Deputy Sheriff of said County and they, [or a
majority of them, ] under oath, shall state in writing to
the County Commissioners of said county, the number of
sheep, poultry, or livestock killed, the character and extent
of the injury, if any done, and the amount of the damages,
upon which they shall all agree, sustained by the owner;
