the qualified voters shall elect a Mayor to serve for the
term of one year; the qualified voters of each ward where
the term of the Commissioner has expired shall elect a
Commissioner to serve for the term of two years; and the
qualified voters of any ward where a vacancy in the office
of Commissioner has occurred shall elect a Commissioner
to fill out the unexpired term.
(M) Said Board shall prepare ballots containing the
names of the candidates who shall have complied with the
provisions of Paragraph 0 of this section.
(N) Any person who shall have attained the age of
twenty-five (25) years, who shall not have been convicted
of a felony or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude,
and who shall be a registered voter and a taxpayer on real
property in said town, or the spouse of such taxpayer, shall
be eligible for the office of Mayor or Commissioner.
(O) A person shall be deemed a candidate for the office
of Mayor and his name, as such candidate, shall be placed
on the ballots prepared by the Board of Election Super-
visors provided such person shall, at least ten (10) days
(including Sundays and holidays) prior to the date of such
election, file with said Board a petition, signed by at least
ten (10) registered voters of the Town of District Heights,
which petition shall state (a) the name and address of the
candidate, (b) the office sought, (c) the fact that such
person is eligible for such office, and (d) that such person
wishes his name placed on the ballot as a candidate. A
person shall be deemed a candidate for the office of Com-
missioner from a ward in which there is a vacancy, and his
name, as such candidate, shall be placed on the ballots pre-
pared by the Board of Election Supervisors, provided such
person shall, at least ten (10) days (including Sundays
and holidays) prior to the date of such election, file with
said Board a petition, signed by at least five (5) registered
voters of the Town of District Heights residing in the ward
from which he seeks election, which petition shall state
the same information as required in the case of a candi-
date for Mayor. Such petition for Mayor or Commissioner
shall be sworn to by the person so filing same, before the
Chairman Commissioner or the Secretary Commissioner,
or before a Justice of the Peace or other officer or person
(including a Notary Public), having authority to admin-
ister oaths in Prince George's County, both as to the fact
of his eligibility and as to the genuineness of the signa-
tures of such petition. No person shall be deemed a candi-
date, nor shall his name be placed upon the ballots, unless
