(g) Trial Magistrates of St. Mary's County shall have
civil jurisdiction in all cases hereinabove mentioned in this
section, instituted after June 1, 1953, and involving
amounts not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

(Senate Bill 450)
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council
of Chestertown to acquire, construct, design and estab-
lish additional facilities for and improve and repair the
present facilities of the water system of the Town of
Chestertown; to borrow on the full faith and credit of
the Town a sum or sums not exceeding One Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($100, 000. 00) for said purpose and to
issue bonds in that amount to evidence said debt; to
levy, impose and collect water rents and charges on
property directly benefited or using said water system
for the purpose of paying the principal and interest on
said bonds, and to levy and collect an ad valorem tax
without limitation as to rate or amount upon all assess-
able property in Chestertown sufficient in rate and
amount to provide funds together with the water rents
and charges collected to pay annnually the interest on
and maturing principal of the bonds issued under this
Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Mayor and Council of Chestertown are hereby
authorized, when at any time or from time to time, in
their judgment, it is deemed expedient or necessary, to
acquire, construct, design and establish additional facilities
for and to repair and improve the present facilities to the
water system of the Town of Chestertown whether said
facilities are within or outside the corporate limits of said
Town.
