CHAPTER 209
(House Bill 242)
AN ACT to add a new Sub-section to Section 5 of Article
38 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Fines and Forfeitures", said new sub-section to be
known as Sub-section (c), to follow immediately after
Sub-section (b) of said Article, relating to the payment
of a portion of the fines imposed and recognizances for-
feited in Cecil County to the Court Library of said
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new Sub-section be and it is hereby added
to Section 5 of Article 38 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Fines and Forfeitures", said
new sub-section to be known as Sub-section (c), to follow
immediately after Sub-section (b) of said Article, and to
read as follows:

(c) In Cecil County, if in any year the said payment to
the Court Library of one-half the fines imposed and recog-
nizances forfeited is less than One Thousand Dollars ($1, -
000. 00), the County Commissioners thereof shall pay to
the Clerk of the Court, for the use of said Library, what-
ever amount may be necessary to bring to One Thousand
Dollars ($1, 000. 00) in the aggregate the total amount to
be paid to said Library during that year under the work-
ings of this section.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
