enacted by Chapter 514 of the Acts of 1951, relating to
the privilege of members of the Police Department of
Baltimore City to re-establish eligibility in the Special
Fund of said department.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 593A of the Charter and Public
Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article
4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Commissioner", said
section having been enacted by Chapter 514 of the Acts of
1951 be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, to read as follows:
593A. Any member of the Police Department of Balti-
more City who was a member of the Special Fund of said
Department prior to January 1, 1947, and who as of June
1, [1951, ] 1953, was a member of the Employees' Retire-
ment System of the City of Baltimore shall have the
privilege of re-establishing eligibility in the said Special
Fund. In such event he shall receive credit in the said
Special Fund for all service rendered to the Police Depart-
ment. Contributions which he has made to the said Em-
ployees' Retirement System, plus the interest thereon, shall
be withdrawn therefrom and be deposited in the said
Special Fund.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
