sub-title "Roads, Bridges, Sidewalks and Storm Water
Drainage", being Article 3 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore County'', said sec-
tion having been added by Chapter 505 of the Acts of
1951, authorizing the County Commissioners of Balti-
more County to levy not more than two cents (20) on
the tax rate in Baltimore County for the purpose of con-
structing new sidewalks therein.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 314A of Title 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1948 Edition),
title "Public Works", sub-title "Roads, Bridges, Sidewalks
and Storm Water Drainage", being Article 3 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore Coun-
ty", said section having been added by Chapter 505 of the
Acts of 1951, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
314A. The County Commissioners of Baltimore County
are authorized, whenever in their judgment it becomes
necessary to do so, for the preservation of the public
health, safety, and morals, to levy in each year not more
than two cents (2¢) on each One Hundred Dollars ($100. )
of the taxable basis in [The Metropolitan Area of] Balti-
more County, for the purpose of constructing new side-
walks in the thickly populated sections of said County and
or maintaining and repairing such sidewalks as may be
already constructed therein.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
