528G. (108-1SG) Acceptance of streets for maintenance.

The Town Council^ by ordinance adopted pursuant to
Section 528 (3) of this Code, may prescribe the terms and
conditions upon which any street, alley, road or thorough-
fare which has been acquired by the Town or dedicated
to public use may be accepted, and by resolution may au-
thorize the Mayor to accept any such street, alley, road or
thoroughfare upon such terms and conditions. Upon the
acceptance of any street, alley, road or thoroughfare, it
shall become a part of the Town road system and shall
thereafter be maintained by the Town at its expense.

528H. (108-13H) Same—Ordinance assessing costs, pro-
visions of, in general.

Upon completion of the construction the Town Council
shall by ordinance assess the cost thereof (including the
actual cost of publication of notices, the conduct of hear-
ings, advertising for bids, engineering, and all costs of
financing incurred prior to the adoption of the ordinance)
against the abutting properties as provided in the Road
Construction Code in force at the time and subject to the
limitations of Section 528D hereof. Such assessments
shall be computed on the basis of the linear frontage of
such properties except as otherwise provided in Section
528-I hereof and in said Road Construction Code.

528-I. (108-13-I) Same—Corner lots.

In all cases where the property to be assessed for con-
struction hereunder is located at the intersection of two
or more streets and is what is known as a corner lot, the
linear frontage of such corner lot to be assessed in con-
nection with the construction of each street abutting
thereon shall be reduced to one-half of the total frontage
of said lot upon the street which it is proposed to con-
struct, but such reduction shall not exceed fifty feet on
any one street. The portion of the cost of the construction
which would otherwise have been assessed to such corner
lots shall be added to the overall cost assessed to the re-
maining assessable frontage of the whole project, or, in
the discretion of the Town Council, may be paid for in
whole or in part by the Town.

528J. (108-13J) Same—Assessments, payment of, in
general.

Assessments shall be due and payable upon adoption of
the ordinance making the same, provided that the Town
