(House Bill 425)

AN ACT to add a new section to the Charter and Public
Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition), being
Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Baltimore City, " sub-title "People's Court, "
said new section to be known as Section 436A and to fol-
low immediately after Section 436 of said Article, pro-
viding that pensions shall be paid to elected judges of
the People's Court of Baltimore City and relating gen-
erally to the amounts of such pensions and the procedure
for paying them.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it hereby added to
the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949
Edition), being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore City, " sub-title "Peo-
ple's Court, " said new section to be known as Section
436A, to follow immediately after Section 436 of said
Article, and to read as follows:

436A. Every elected judge of the People's Court of Balti-
more City shall be paid, after the termination of his active
service, if he is then at least sixty years of age or when he
becomes sixty years of age, a pension or salary calculated
at the rate of Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350. 00)
($300. 00) per annum for each year, or any part thereof,
of active service by appointment and election as a judge
of said People's Court, up to and including twenty years
of such active service, so that the maximum pension or
salary for such service payable hereunder to any one per-
