176 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 81

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 66C
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Natural Resources", said new section to be known as
Section 661A, to follow immediately after Section 661
thereof and to be under the sub-title "Oysters and Clams",
and to read as follows:

661A. From and after June 1, 1958, the Department of
Tidewater Fisheries shall not lease any of the submerged
areas of this State in Somerset County for the purpose of
the cultivation of oysters. This prohibition shall prevail
notwithstanding anything to the contrary in Section 661
of said Article 66C. Nothing in this section shall be con-
strued to affect or apply to any existing valid lease made
prior to and effective on June 1, 1952, nor shall the provi-
sions of this section be construed to affect or apply to any
lease valid and existing under the provisions of Chapter 72
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1952.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 81
(Senate Bill 72)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
402 of Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cecil County", sub-title
"Rising Sun", modifying the provisions of said section
as to the power of arrest without a warrant.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That Section 402 of Article 8 of the Code of Public Local

Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cecil County",

sub-title "Rising Sun", be and it is hereby repealed and

re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

402. They shall MAY provide by ordinance for the [im-
mediate] arrest [without warrant] of any person violat-
