WITHOUT RESPECT TO THE OUTCOME OF THE REF-
ERENDUM PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION.

(House Bill 154)
AN ACT granting certain additional powers to the City of
Annapolis and clarifying other powers of said City; to
add a new Section to the Anne Arundel County Code
(1947 Edition), being Article 2 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel County",
sub-title "Annapolis", said new Section to follow im-
mediately after Section 1 of said Code, as the same was
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, by Chapter
569 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at its January Session in the year 1951, said new
Section to be designated Section 1-A and providing that
for the purpose of municipal taxation, improvements
on United States Government property within the bound-
aries of the City as defined in said Section 1, shall be
subject to municipal taxation as and to the extent that
any such improvements are determined to be the prop-
erty of private persons; to add a new section to said
Code to be known as Section 54-A to follow immediately
after Section 54 of said Code, as the same was repealed
and re-enacted with amendments by Chapter 437 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at
its January Session in the year 1951, said Act referring
to said section by its number prior to the revision of said
Code, said new section to empower the Mayor and Alder-
men of the City of Annapolis to lease property not
needed for immediate public use, under certain circum-
stances; to add a new section to said Code, to be desig-
nated Section 33A, to follow immediately after Section
33 of said Code and to authorize and empower the Mayor
and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis to acquire and
