1300 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 657

"Administration—Registration—Titling", be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

24. Motor vehicles owned by farmers and registered
under the provisions of this Article may, on the payment
of [One Dollar ($1. 00)] One Dollar and Fifty Cents
($1. 50),
be operated on that part of the State's highways
which is adjacent to their farms.

80. (Registration fees. ) (a) (1) Except as provided in
Sub-section (2) of this section, the following registration
fees shall be paid in advance to the Department for the reg-
istration plates and certificates of registrations issued by it
for the designated classes in accordance with the provisions
of this Article.

(Class A. Pneumatic Tires. ) A fee of [$15. 00] $20. 00
each for all passenger cars, including station wagons, hav-
ing a manufacturer's shipping weight up to and including
3700 lbs., and a fee of [$23. 00] $30. 00 each for all pass-
enger cars, including station wagons, having a manufac-
turer's SHIPPING weight of more than 3700 lbs.

The Department shall pay to the County, or to Baltimore
City, in which the owner of a passenger vehicle subject to
the fee of [$15. 00] $20. 00 resides, the sum of $5. 00, and if
the owner also resides within the corporate limits of any
municipality or special taxing area in a County, or in a
special improvement district in Prince George's County,
the municipality or special taxing area or special improve-
ment district shall be entitled to receive from the County
the sum of $2. 50.

The Department shall pay to the County or Baltimore
City in which the owner of a passenger vehicle subject to
the fee of [$23. 00] $30. 00 resides, the sum of $8. 00, and if
the owner also resides within the corporate limits of any
municipality or special taxing area in a County, or in a
special improvement district in Prince George's County,
this municipality or special taxing area or special improve-
ment district shall be entitled to receive from the County
the sum of $4. 00.

(Class B. Pneumatic Tires. ) A fee of [$45. 00] $65. 00
each for all passenger motor vehicles operating for the pur-
pose of transporting persons for hire upon any of the pub-
lic highways and streets of the State other than motor
