(f). Trial Magistrates of Dorchester County, MONT-
GOMERY COUNTY and Talbot County shall have civil
jurisdiction in all cases hereinbefore mentioned in this
section, instituted after June 1 [1949, ] 1953, and involving
amounts not exceeding [Three] five Hundred Dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal Section 17 (e) of Article 17 of the An-
notated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Clerks
of Courts, " sub-title General Duties of Clerks, " and to
repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 24 (g)
thereof, and to re-letter Section 24 (f), (g) and (g-1)
thereof to be Sections 24 (e), (f) and (g), respectively,
raising the salary of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of
Garrett County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 17 (e) of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Clerks of Courts, " sub-
title "General Duties of Clerks, " be and it is hereby re-
pealed and that Section 24 (g) of said Article be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and that
Sections 24 (f), (g) and (g-1) be and they are hereby re-
lettered to be Sections 24(e), (f) and (g), respectively,
and all to read as follows:
24.
[(g)] (f) The Clerks of the Circuit Courts of Caroline,
Dorchester, Garrett, Somerset and Worcester Counties
shall each be entitled to receive an annual salary of $4, 500.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
