Court of Baltimore City and the Circuit Court of the
several Counties shall have jurisdiction to carry out the
provisions of the said sections of this sub-title and of this
section. Provided, further, that after January 1, 1954, the
provisions of the foregoing sections of this sub-title (desig-
nated as Sections 148 to 152) shall apply to judgments
rendered by the People's Court of Baltimore City.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

(Senate Bill 243)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tions 360, 362 and 363 of Article 14 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Howard County", sub-title "Zoning", authorizing and
empowering the County Commissioners of Howard
County to appoint a Board of Zoning Appeals and to
describe their duties and powers and relating to appeals
to the Circuit Court for Howard County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 360, 362 and 363 of Article 14 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Howard County", sub-title "Zoning", be, and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
360. For the purpose of prompting health, safety,
morals and general welfare, to alleviate traffic congestion,
to facilitate the safe flow of traffic, to protect highways
from the encroachment of advertising structures and
buildings, to preserve the scenic beauty of Howard County
and to promote the orderly growth of said County in the
interest of all its inhabitants, the County Commissioners
of Howard County are hereby empowered to designate,
