said sub-title.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That be and there is added Section 1A to Article
59 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Lunatics and Insane", sub-title "Lunatic or Insane
Paupers", and to read as follows:
1A. The County Commissioners of Allegany County
shall provide a suitable place, either at the County In-
firmary or at Sylvan Retreat, for the detention of any per-
son in Allegany County awaiting adjudication as possibly
being a lunatic or insane person under the provisions of
this sub-title. Any such person shall be held in the place
of detention provided during the time he or she is awaiting
examination and adjudication.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 411 of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Balti-
more City (1949 Edition), being Article 4 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore City",
sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables", pro-
viding that in all cases in which any person is sentenced
to imprisonment or to any fine by a Justice of the
Peace assigned to any of the police stations in the City
of Baltimore there shall be a right of appeal to the
Criminal Court of Baltimore City.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
