and fiscal program by the 20th day of January; and
WHEREAS, without requiring any further work or in-
creasing the burden upon the Governor and the Budget
Director, it would be possible that these materials be fur-
nished to the members of the General Assembly by the
same date in the even years; now therefore be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Governor and the Budget Director be requested to fur-
nish to the members of the General Assembly by January
20 in every even year in which there is to be a thirty-day
session of the General Assembly the proposed budget, to-
gether with all its supporting documents, which are form-
ally to be presented to the General Assembly when it con-
venes on the first Wednesday in February.

Senate Joint Resolution Providing for the participation of
the General Assembly in the celebration of the Three
Hundredth Anniversary of the Establishment of Calvert
County.
The members of the General Assembly of Maryland have
learned with pleasure and with a sense of the drama of
history that, during the year 1954, one of the oldest and
most respected counties is celebrating the Three Hundredth
Anniversary of its founding. They wish sincerely to con-
gratulate their friends and fellow citizens in Calvert County
which was established by Governor William Stone in July,
1654, the name of which was changed to Patuxent County
by Chapter 6 of the General Assembly of 1654.
It was appropriate that the session of the General As-
sembly which convened on October 20, 1654, met in what
has become Calvert County, meeting at Patuxent the prop-
erty of Richard Preston overlooking the broad and beauti-
