promptly upon obtaining knowledge or notice thereof, to at
once report such disability to the Commission, and also to
any local representative of the Commission. Such report
shall state (a) the time, cause and nature of the disability,
and the probable duration; (b) whether the disability from
an occupational disease arose out of and in the course of
the injured person's employment; (c) any other matters
the rules and regulations of the Commission may prescribe.

(c) This Article shall not apply to cases of occupational
disease in which the last injurious exposure to the hazard
of such diseases occurred before June 1, 1939.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 293
(Senate Bill 137)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
1 of Article 96½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supp. ), title "Veterans", re-defining the term
"Second World War Veterans" so as to make applicable
the provisions of Article 96½ to persons entering the
armed forces between June 1, 1950 and June 1, 1953.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1 of Article 96½ of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supp. ), title "Veterans", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

[(1)] 1. The term "Second World War Veteran, " as
when used in this Article, unless a contrary intention
shall be manifest by the context, shall mean, be deemed to
mean, and shall apply to any person who, at the time he
seeks to invoke any of the provisions of this Article or at
