CHAPTER 30
(Senate Bill 153)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
355 of Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Howard County, " sub-
title "Taxicabs, " as said section was enacted by Chapter
759 of the Acts of 1947, relating to the age required for
operators of taxicabs having permits to operate in
Howard County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 355 of Article 14 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Howard County, "
sub-title "Taxicabs, " as said section was enacted by Chap-
ter 759 of the Acts of 1947, be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
355. (a) On and after July 1, 1947, no taxicab for
which such permit shall have been issued shall be operated
except by the owner thereof or any employee of the owner,
complying with the provisions of this section, and it shall
be unlawful for the owner of any such taxicab to enter into
any contract, agreement, arrangement, or understanding,
express or implied, with an operator thereof, by the terms
of which such operator pays to or for the account of such
owner a fixed or determinate sum for the use of such taxi-
cab, and is entitled to all or a portion of the proceeds
arising from its operation.
(b) On and after June 1, 1951, no person under twenty-
five years of age shall operate a taxicab for which permit
shall have been issued under this sub-title.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
