SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
36 (b) of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1947 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensa-
tion", sub-title "Claims and Compensation; Benefits", as
amended by Chapter 461 of the Acts of 1949, eliminat-
ing the provision voiding private contracts for funeral
expenses in excess of $300, made without the approval
of the State Industrial Accident Commission.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 36 (b) of Article 101 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), as amended by Chapter
461 of the Acts of 1949, title "Workmen's Compensation",
sub-title "Claims and Compensation; Benefits", be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
36. (b) The employer shall repair or replace any eye-
glasses, artificial limb, eye, tooth or other part that shall
be damaged or destroyed as a result of an accident during
the course of employment and if the eyeglasses, artificial
limb, eye, tooth, or other part is not repaired, or replaced
within three days following its damage or destruction, then
the employer shall pay the employee such compensation
for his lost time, if any, after the three-day waiting period,
as the Commission may direct. If an employer fails to
provide the same, the injured employee may do so at the
expense of the employer. All fees and other charges for
such treatment and services shall be subject to regulation
by the Commission, and shall be limited to such charges
as prevail in the same community for similar treatment
of injured persons of a like standard of living, and in case
death ensues from the injury within three years, reason-
