CHAPTER 238
(House Bill 44)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 78B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Racing Com-
mission", to be known as Section 21A and to follow imme-
diately after Section 21, providing for the disposition of
funds available for payment of unclaimed winning tickets.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
78B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement),
title "Racing Commission", to be known as Section 21A, to
follow immediately after Section 21, and to read as follows:
21A. If any winning ticket bought after June 1, 1951, is not
redeemed for a period of three years, the amount necessary to
redeem the ticket shall be paid to the School Incentive Fund
for Buildings. GENERAL FUNDS OF THE STATE. Be-
ginning January 1, 1955, every licensee shall report annually
to the State Comptroller the amount payable to the Incentive
Fund GENERAL FUNDS OF THE STATE under this sec-
tion, for the preceding year ending December 31, and shall
remit to the Comptroller the said amount which shall be
credited by the Comptroller to the School Incentive Fund.
GENERAL FUNDS OF THE STATE. If any licensee fails
to report when any money is due or wilfully or knowingly
renders a report which understates the amount owed under
this section, the license of such licensee shall be revoked. Any
license whose license is revoked under this section shall be
ineligible to hold a license for a period of one year after the
revocation.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.
