(Senate Bill 301)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Charles County", sub-title "County Commissioners",
said new section to be known as Section 84H, and to
follow immediately after Section 84G of said Article,
as said Section 84G was amended by Chapter 678 of the
Acts of 1949, authorizing the County Commissioners of
Charles County to levy funds to provide a resident phy-
sician at "Physician's Memorial Hospital", in said
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 9
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Charles County", sub-title "County Com-
missioners", said new section to be known as Section 84H,
to follow immediately after Section 84G of said Article,
as said Section 84G was amended by Chapter 678 of the
Acts of 1949, and to read as follows:
84H. (a) The County Commissioners of Charles County
are hereby authorized to levy on the assessable property
of said county for the calendar year 1951, and annually
thereafter, a sum not to exceed $6500. 00 per year, which
said sum shall be appropriated to "Physician's Memorial
Hospital, Inc. ", at La Plata, in Charles County, to defray
the costs of providing a resident physician or physicians
at said hospital.
(b) The physician or physicians to be provided for said
hospital pursuant to the provisions of this section shall be
chosen by the County Commissioners of Charles County
from a list of applicants first approved by the Medical
Staff and Board of Governors of "Physician's Memorial
Hospital, Inc. "; and the said County Commissioners of
Charles County, the Medical Staff and the Board of Gov-
ernors of "Physician's Memorial Hospital", acting jointly,
shall have the authority to formulate and promulgate such
rules and regulations governing the employment, duties
and responsibilities of the physician or physicians so
