of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Garrett County, " sub-title "Friendsville, " be and they are
hereby repealed and that the new Charter for the town
of Friendsville in Garrett County be and it is hereby en-
acted in lieu thereof and all to read as follows:

ARTICLE 1

INCORPORATION AND GENERAL GOVERNMENT
INCORPORATION

1. The inhabitants of the Town of Friendsville, in Gar-
rett County, Maryland, are hereby constituted a body
corporate by the name of "The Town of Friendsville, " and
by that name shall have perpetual succession, sue and be
sued, have and use a common seal which, may be altered
at pleasure, and have all powers and privileges incident to
or that may attach to a municipal corporation. The repeal-
ing of the former Section 185 of Article 12 of the 1930
edition of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, and
the enactment of this new section, shall not be construed
as terminating the existence of the corporation known as
the "Mayor and Council of Friendsville" and creating a
new corporation by the name of "The Town of Friends-
ville, " but shall be construed as continuing the existence
of the corporation known as the "Mayor and Council of
Friendsville" and changing its name to that of "The Town
of Friendsville. "

BOUNDARIES

2. The taxable corporate limits of the Town of Friends-
ville shall be as follows: Beginning at a bounded mulberry
tree standing north ten degrees west sixty perches from
John, T. Gary's house and running thence 59½ degrees
east 190 perches to a clump of pawpaw bushes, north 25
degrees east 140 perches to a stone corner, than south 16
degrees east 296 perches to a large rock, then south 68¾
degrees west 260 perches to a stake on brow of a hill above
coal bank, north 81½ degrees west 152 perches to a lean-
ing tree a little above and beyond Homer Friend's house,
thence north 8 degrees west 280 perches to the beginning.

FORM OF GOVERNMENT

3. The government of the Town of Friendsville shall
be vested in a mayor and six councilmen to be elected as
hereinafter provided.
