AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 188
of Higinbothom's Laws of Harford County (1942 Edition),
being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Harford County", sub-title "County Commission-
ers", as said section was enacted by Chapter 278 of the Acts
of 1943 authorizing the payment of traveling expenses to
the County Commissioners of Harford County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 188 of Higinbothom's Laws of Harford
County (1942 Edition), title "Harford County", sub-title
"County Commissioners", as said Section was enacted by Chap-
ter 278 of the Acts of 1943, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
188. There shall be three County Commissioners of Harford
County who shall be voters and tax payers of said County,
and who shall hold office for a term of four years and shall
be eligible for re-election. They shall each receive an annual
salary of Twenty-five Hundred Dollars ($2500, 00), payable
monthly by the Treasurer of said County and they are required
to meet for the transaction of public business at their office at
Bel Air at least two days each week, and as much oftener as the
proper discharge of their official duties may require; and on
each Tuesday and Wednesday in September and the first two
Tuesdays and Wednesdays in October they shall sit for the
purpose of making abatements and granting insolvencies; they
shall also meet daily in the last week of October of each year
until the annual levy is completed [. ]; provided further that
the said County Commissioners shall be paid by the Treasurer
of said County actual traveling expenses incurred in the con-
duct of their duties, but not to exceed in the aggregate Seven
Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($750. 00) per year.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.
