Breaking, " said new section to follow immediately after
Section 576AB of said Article and to be designated as
Section 576AC, to authorize the exhibition of motion
pictures within the corporate limits of the Town of
Centreville, Queen Anne's County, after the hour of 2
P. M. on Sundays; to repeal all Public General and Pub-
lic Local Laws inconsistent therewith to the extent of
such inconsistency and to provide for a referendum vote
thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That one new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 27 of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land (1939 Edition and 1947 Supplement), title "Crimes
and Punishments, " sub-title "Sabbath Breaking, " said new
section to follow immediately after Section 576AB of said
Article, and to be designated as 576AC, and to read as
follows:

576AC. Nothing contained in Sections 560 or 576 of
this Article shall be construed to prohibit or make unlaw-
ful the exhibition within the corporate limits of the Town
of Centreville in Queen Anne's County of motion pictures
after the hour of 2 P. M. on the first day of the week, com-
monly called Sunday, whether the same be exhibited with
or without a charge or admission fee, provided, however,
that such exhibition shall be subject to all provisions of
law relating to licensing and censorship applicable to mo-
tion picture exhibitions on week days. The work or em-
ployment of any operator, ticket seller or any other em-
ployees or attendants in connection with any such exhibi-
tion of motion pictures shall not be unlawful because per-
formed on Sundays. Any exhibition of motion pictures on
Sundays, except as hereby authorized, shall be unlawful
and subject to the provisions and penalties of said Sec-
tions 560 and 576 of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws and
parts of laws, whether public general or public local laws,
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be and the
same are hereby repealed with respect to any exhibition
authorized by Section 576AC as enacted by Section 1 here-
of, to the extent of any such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That Sections 1 and
2 of this Act shall not become effective until they have
been submitted for adoption or rejection to the qualified
voters of Centreville in Queen Anne's County. At the reg-
ular municipal election held in the Town of Centreville,
