full investigation, may in his discretion waive jurisdiction and
order such child held for action under the regular procedure
that would follow if such act or acts had been committed by
an adult. He shall [waive] have no jurisdiction in [every]
any instance in which a minor is charged with the violation of
any provision of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code, or of any
other traffic law or ordinance, other than manslaughter by
automobile, unauthorized use or occupancy of a motor vehicle
or operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of in-
toxicating liquors or drugs.
[If the Judge retains jurisdiction in such a case, the hearing
on the charge shall be before the Judge without a jury, unless
the parent or guardian of such child shall elect to have the case
tried before a jury. ]
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 13
(House Bill 18)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 758
of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title
"Department of Correction", conferring the same powers
upon the Circuit Courts of the Counties as possessed by the
Criminal Courts of Baltimore City in sentencing certain
minors to the "Maryland State Reformatory for Males".
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 758 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments",
sub-title "Department of Correction", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
758. The institution established under the provisions of
Chapter 366 of the Acts of 1931, known as the "Maryland State
Penal Farm" shall hereafter be known as the "Maryland State
Reformatory for Males", and shall be a place of confinement
