(House Bill 170)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 81
of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Garrett County", sub-title "County
Commissioners", as said section was amended by Chapter
172 of the Acts of 1941, relating to the arrangement of the
ballots for the nomination of candidates for County Com-
missioners by district.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 81 of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Garrett County", sub-
title "County Commissioners", as said section was amended by
Chapter 172 of the Acts of 1941, be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
81. (a) For the purpose of electing County Commissioners,
Garrett County shall be divided into three County Commis-
sioners' Districts, as follows:
(1) The first County Commissioners' District shall be com-
posed of the First, Fourth, Tenth, Twelfth and Thirteenth
Election Districts;
(2) The second County Commissioners' District shall be
composed of the Second, Third, Fifth, Sixth, Ninth, Eleventh
and Fifteenth Election Districts.
(3) The third County Commissioners' District shall be
composed of the Seventh, Eighth, Fourteenth and Sixteenth
Election Districts.
(b) At all future elections for the office of County Commis-
sioner, one Commissioner shall be elected from among the
voters residing in each County Commissioners' District by the
general vote of the County.
At primary elections to be held in Garrett County at which
candidates are selected for the position of County Commis-
sioner, one candidate for each party shall be chosen from each
County Commissioners' District by the county-wide vote of
the members of the respective parties. The Supervisors of
Elections of Garrett County shall place the names of all per-
