(House Bill 140)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 83, 84 and 85 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Prince George's County (1943 Edition), being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Bowie", and to
enact three new sections in lieu thereof, to be known as Sec-
tions 83, 84 and 85 and to follow immediately after Section
82 of said Article, providing for the appointment of a Board
of Election Supervisors, the duties connected therewith, the
qualification of voters in the Town of Bowie and the election
of Commissioners, and providing for a referendum thereon.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 83, 84 and 85 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1943 Edition), being Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Bowie", be and they are hereby
repealed and that three new sections be and they are hereby
enacted in lieu thereof, said new sections to be known as Sec-
tions 83, 84 and 85, to follow immediately after Section 82, and
to read as follows:
83. (1) The Commissioners of said town shall annually on or
before the 1st Monday in April, by resolution entered in the
minute books of said Commissioners, appoint a board of Elec-
tion Supervisors, to be composed of three (3) members, each of
whom shall be a citizen of the United States, of the age of
twenty-five (25) years or more, and a bona fide resident of said
town for at least six (6) months.
(2) The members of said Board shall receive such compensa-
tion as may be determined by the Commissioners of said Town.
(3) Before entering upon the duties of his office, each mem-
ber of said Board shall take the constitutional oath of office be-
fore the President Commissioner, or before a Justice of the
Peace or other officer or person (including a Notary Public),
authorized by law to administer oaths in Prince George's
County.
(4) Said Board shall select one of its members as Clerk. And
each member of said Board shall have power to administer
