containers in which they are placed, before such contain-
ers are sealed, closed or capped. Clean cuts, which are not
infected, shall be covered with rubber cots securely
fastened.

205. Any person, firm or corporation who violates any
of the provisions of this sub-title, or refuses, neglects or
fails to comply with the provisions and requirements here-
of, or fails to comply with any lawful order or require-
ments of said Board of Health duly made in writing as
herein provided, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof, shall, for the first offense, be
fined not [more than fifty dollars; for the second offense
not more than one hundred dollars; and for the third of-
fense not more than three hundred dollars. ] less than one
hundred dollars nor more than two hundred and fifty dol-
lars; for the second offense, not less than two hundred and
fifty dollars nor more than five hundred dollars; and for
the third and subsequent offenses, not less than five hun-
dred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars or one
year's imprisonment, or both.

206. The State Board of Health of Maryland, its agents
and servants, are hereby authorized and empowered to
enter at reasonable hours the premises of any establish-
ment in this State, or into any room in any building in this
State engaged in any business herein set forth, for the
purpose of inspecting and enforcing the provisions of this
sub-title; and any person, firm or corporation engaged in
the business aforesaid refusing access to the said State
Board of Health of Maryland, its officers and agents, or in
any way interfering with them in the exercise of their
duties, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon convic-
tion thereof, shall be fined in the sum not exceeding [one]
five hundred dollars for each offense.

208. No person, firm or corporation shall conduct or
operate a cannery without first obtaining a license from
the State Board of Health, said license [shall run for one
year from the date of its issue] to expire on the last day of
November of each year,
unless sooner revoked as herein
provided, [and shall be renewed annually thereafter] and
a new license shall be applied for each year.
A license may
be denied if the establishment of the applicant is known to
be in an insanitary condition or if the water supply is
known to be dangerously polluted. [After January 1, 1932]
No new cannery shall be licensed unless so located or con-
structed that the waste liquids, drainage and inedible prod-
ucts can be readily removed from the premises and imme-
