strued to affect the validity of any notes, certificates of in-
debtedness and/or bonds,
or obligations of any kind which may
have been heretofore incurred by the Liquor Control Board of
Montgomery County.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted. That Sub-section (k) of
Section 143, Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
(1947 Supplement), be and the same is hereby repealed, and
that a new sub-section is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be
known as Sub-section (k) of Section 143 of said Article to fol-
low immediately after Sub-section (j) of said Section and to
read as follows:

143.

(k) (Montgomery County. ) (1) In Montgomery County, in
addition to the powers already enumerated in this section,
the Director of the Department of Liquor Control shall have
power to acquire, with the approval of the County Council, by
lease, purchase or otherwise, such real or personal property as
may be deemed necessary by the said Director to operate dis-
pensaries, stores or warehouses; and shall have power to ac-
quire, by purchase or otherwise, any alcoholic beverages from
any source for re-sale, provided that all purchases except pur-
chases of merchandise for re-sale shall be made through the
County Purchasing Office.

(2) Effective July 1, 1951, the title to all real and personal
property now used by or in the name of the Liquor Control
Board, including money in banks, credits, accounts receivable,
trucks, automobiles, equipment, stock in trade, leases, fran-
chises, contracts and the title to the Liquor Dispensary Build-
ing located in Silver Spring, Maryland, more particularly de-
scribed in a deed dated July 21, 1943 and recorded among the
Land Records of Montgomery County in Liber 917, folio 156,
shall be and is hereby vested in Montgomery County, Mary-
land. Nothing in this sub-title shall be construed to impair
the validity of any outstanding contracts or obligations of
any nature to which the Liquor Control Board has heretofore
become a party.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That Sub-section (d) of
Section 145 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1947 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-
title, "County Dispensaries" be and it is hereby repealed and
that a new sub-section is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be
known as Sub-section (d) of Section 145 and to follow im-
mediately after Sub-section (c) of said Section and to read
as follows:
