AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-sec-
tions (a), (b), (c), (d) (2), (e), (f), (g), (h) (3) and (i)
of Section 139 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages,
sub-title "County Dispensaries"; and to repeal and re-enact,
with amendments, Sub-section (c) of Section 140 of said
Article; and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-
section (d) of Section 141 of said Article; and to repeal
and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section (b) of Section
142 of said Article; and to repeal and re-enact, with amend-
ments, Sub-section (a) of Section 143 of said Article; and
to add a new sub-section to Section 140 of said Article to
be known as Sub-section (d) and to follow immediately
after Sub-section (c) of said Section; and to repeal Sub-
section (k) of Section 143 of said Article and to enact in
lieu thereof a new sub-section to be known as Sub-section
(k) and to follow immediately after Sub-section (j) of said
Section; and to repeal Sub-section (d) of Section 145 of
said Article and to enact in lieu thereof a new sub-section
to be known as Sub-section (d) and to follow immediately
after Sub-section (c) of said Section, providing generally
for the establishment of a Department of Liquor Control
in Montgomery County to exercise the powers and functions
of a Liquor Control Board.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-sections (a), (b), (c), (d) (2), (e), (f), (g),
(h) (3) and (i) of Section 139 of Article 2B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement); and Sub-section
(c) of Section 140 of said Article; and Sub-section (d) of
Section 141 of said Article; and sub-section (b) of Section 142
of said Article; and Sub-section (a) of Section 143 of said
Article, be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted, to
read as follows:
139. Liquor Control Boards, (a) (Established). ) There
is hereby constituted and established in each county a Liquor
Control Board, to be appointed and to have the tenure, com-
pensation, powers and duties as provided in this sub-title;
