AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section
(o) of Section 37B of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Com-
pensation and Duties", as said sub-section was amended by
Chapter 75 of the Laws of Maryland 1950; and to repeal
Section 52 of said Article, sub-title "Deputy Sheriffs", pro-
viding for the number of Deputy Sheriffs in said MONT-
GOMERY County, relating to their salary and traveling
and other expenses, and providing that Deputy Sheriffs be
appointed by the Sheriff.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (o) of Section 37B of Article 87 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title
"Sheriffs", sub-title "Compensation and Duties", as said sub-
section was amended by Chapter 75 of the Laws of Maryland
1950 be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
37B.
(o) (1) [The Sheriff of Montgomery County shall receive an
annual salary of $3, 000 and $1, 000 per year for the operation
of an automobile effective from January 1, 1950, and $1, 200 per
year effective from January 1, 1950, for the remainder of the
term of said Sheriff, the total of which may be furnished the
Sheriff by the County Council at any time during his term,
for the purchase of an automobile to be used by the Sheriff or
his deputies for the general public work of the office, which
automobile shall be maintained by the Sheriff without any cost
to the County; provided that effective January 1, 1951, ] The
Sheriff of Montgomery County shall receive an annual salary
