corporation shall extend for one-quarter of a mile in every
direction beyond the aforesaid limits.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 73

(Senate Bill 211)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 90 of Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Charles County, " sub-
title "County Treasurer, " as said section was amended
by Chapter 980 of the Acts of 1943, providing that the
County Treasurer shall receive an allowance for clerical
expenses.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 90 of Article 9 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Charles County, "
sub-title "County Treasurer, " as said section was amended
by Chapter 980 of the Acts of 1943, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

90. The said treasurer shall receive an annual salary
of three thousand dollars, to be levied by the County Com-
missioners at their annual levy each year, beginning with
the first levy after the term of office of said treasurer shall
begin, and he shall receive no other fees or compensation
whatsoever from any other source for the performance of
his duties as treasurer other than for sale of license tags
for motor vehicles [. ]; provided, however, that he shall
receive an allowance for clerical expenses in the amount of
$800. 00 per year.
The said treasurer shall have the au-
thority to appoint an assistant treasurer, who shall be
authorized to act in his place.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
