also be lawful for any person (who may be called upon) to
assist the Churchwarden in the aforementioned duties.

29IN. The Vestry of every Parish or Separate Congre-
gation shall have the full power and authority from time
to time to call (subject to thirty days prior notice to the
Bishop of the Diocese in which said Parish or Separate
Congregation is situated) a priest to be the Rector of the
said Church, which relation shall continue until dissolved
by mutual consent or by the arbitration and decision of the
Ecclesiastical Authority of the Diocese. The Vestry of
each Parish or Separate Congregation shall also have the
power, subject to thirty days' prior notice to the Bishop
of the Diocese, to appoint one or more additional priests
or ministers for said Church, on like terms and conditions.

291-0. It shall be the duty of the Vestry of each Parish
or Separate Congregation to provide a suitable book to be
known as the Parish Register in which shall be recorded
the essential facts and data regarding the date and place
of all baptisms, marriages and funerals occurring at such
Church or performed or celebrated by the Rector or minis-
ter thereof outside of said Church but involving any mem-
ber of the congregation of said Church. In the entry of
baptisms there shall be recorded the Christian names of the
persons baptized, the Christian and surnames of the par-
ents with the dates of the baptisms and the births of the
persons baptized. In the entry of marriages and burials
there shall be recorded the times of the celebration and the
Christian and surnames of the persons married and the
persons buried.

It shall be primarily the duty of the Rector or minister
in charge to make or have such entries made in the Regis-
ter; but in the absence or inability of the Rector or minis-
ter so to do, such entries shall be made by the Registrar
hereinafter mentioned, upon information to be given to
him by the minister or celebrant of said baptisms, mar-
riages and funerals. The Vestry of each Church shall also
appoint or elect a suitable person as Registrar of the Parish
who, before assuming his duties shall also make the dec-
laration above required from Vestrymen. The Registrar
shall also act as Secretary at meetings of the Vestry and
record in a proper minute book to be provided by the
Vestry for that purpose, the minutes of actions taken at
Vestry meetings. The Registrar may be elected from
among the members of the Vestry.

If any minister of the Protestant Episcopal Church shall
celebrate any baptism, marriage or burial in another Par-
