return of such order, the judge before whom the matter shall
come on for a hearing shall examine under oath such person,
and such person shall be given an opportunity to be heard;
and if the judge shall determine that such person has refused,
without reasonable cause or legal excuse, to be examined or
to answer a legal and pertinent question, or to produce a book
or paper which he was ordered to bring or produce, he may
forthwith commit the offender to jail, there to remain until
he submits to do the act which he was so required to do, or is
discharged according to law.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.

(House Bill 511)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-section
(b) of Section 443 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supp. ), title "Health", sub-title "Chiroprac-
tic", relating to the examinations held by the Chiropractic
Board.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sub-section (b) of Section 443 of Article 43 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supp. ), title "Health",
sub-title "Chiropractic", be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
443.
(b) Said Board shall hold regular [sessions] Examinations,
at such places as the Board may decide, [the first week in
January and July, respectively, of each] at least twice during
each calendar year, and shall publish such dates for exam-
ination and place of meeting in some newspaper of general
circulation at least thirty (30) days prior to said meeting.
All applications for said examinations must be in the hands
of the Secretary of the Board not later than fifteen (15) days
prior to the announced date.
