and all tax assessment books, shall be kept open for the inspec-
tion of all parties interested; he shall keep all the accounts of
the corporation, make out the tax list and perform such other
duties in connection with his office as the Mayor and City
Council shall require and he shall receive as [salary the maxi-
mum sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per annum] com-
pensation such salary as may be set by the Mayor and City
Council from time to time.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 389
(House Bill 436)
AN ACT to add a new sub-section to Section 6 of the Baltimore
City Charter and Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1949 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "General
Powers", said new sub-section to be known as Sub-section
(34A), to be under sub-heading "Traffic" and to follow im-
mediately after Sub-section (34), authorizing the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore to create a Traffic Commission and
to prescribe its powers and duties, including the right to
transfer employees in the Traffic Bureau of the Police De-
partment to said Commission.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new sub-section be and it is hereby added to Sec-
tion 6 of the Baltimore City Charter and Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1949 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-
title "General Powers", said new sub-section to be known as
Sub-section (34A), to be under sub-heading "Traffic" and to
follow immediately after Sub-section (34), and to read as
follows:
