CHAPTER 369
(House Bill 207)

AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, (1930 Edition), title "Al-
legany County", to be under sub-title, "Cresaptown Special
Taxing Area or District, " said new sections to be known as
Sections 124T to 124U, inclusive, to follow immediately
after Section 124S of said Article, AS SAID SECTION
123S WAS ENACTED BY CHAPTER 169 OF THE ACTS
OF 1949, to authorize, empower, and direct the said "Cresap-
town Civic Improvement Association", a corporation, to pro-
vide for the construction, maintenance, and operation of
street lights within the said "Cresaptown Special Taxing
Area or District", and to provide for the levy of taxes for
the payment of the cost of said street lights in said District,
and for other purposes; and providing for a referendum
thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That two new sections be, and they are hereby added to
Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition) title "Allegany County", to be under sub-title "Cresap-
town Special Taxing Area or District, " said new sections to be
known as Sections 124T to 124U, inclusive, and to follow im-
mediately after Section 124S of said Article, AS SAID SEC-
TION 123S WAS ENACTED BY CHAPTER 169 OF THE
ACTS OF 1949, and to read as follows:

124T. (a) The Board of County Commissioners of Allegany
County are authorized, empowered, and directed to levy and
cause to be collected from the property owners at the time of
the County Tax levy for the year 1952, or any succeeding year,
within said described area of "Cresaptown Special Taxing Area
or District" as created by Chapter No. 169 of the Acts of the

Legislature of 1939, DEFINED IN SECTION 124B OF THIS

ARTICLE (AS ENACTED BY CHAPTER 169 OF THE
ACTS OF 1949 AND AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO
TIME), such amounts not exceeding twenty cents on each
One Hundred Dollars worth of assessable property in said
"Cresaptown Special Taxing Area or District", Allegany
County, Maryland, as may be requested by the duly consti-
tuted members of the said Cresaptown Civic Improvement As-
