(Senate Bill 65)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Talbot County, " sub-title "Easton, " said new section
to be known as Section 162A and to follow immediately
after Section 162 of said Article, granting to the Mayor
and Council power to provide for retirement pensions
for employees and officers, and to establish and maintain
a pension retirement system and to appropriate funds
therefor.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 21
of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Talbot County, " sub-title "Easton, " said new section to
be known as Section 162A and to follow immediately after
Section 162 of said Article, and to read as follows:
162A. The Mayor and Council of Easton shall have
power, in its discretion, to provide by ordinance for retire-
ment pensions for employees and officers whose compen-
sation is paid by the Mayor and Council of Easton, includ-
ing any of its Commissions or Agencies, and may, in its
discretion, establish and maintain a general retirement or
pension system for such employees and officers, and to
appropriate and expend such funds as may be necessary to
pay such pensions and all expenses in connection with said
pensions or pension system.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
