the original indictment, or sentence him under the original
conviction, as the case may be. In the case of forfeiture
of a recognizance and enforcement thereof by execution,
the sum recovered may, in the discretion of the Court, be
paid in whole or in part to the wife, or the person or insti-
tution having custody of the minor child or children, as
the case may be. Provided that in Anne Arundel, CARO-
LINE, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Dorchester, Frederick, GAR-
RETT, Harford, Montgomery, Prince George's, QUEEN
ANNE'S, St. Mary's, Somerset, Talbot [and], Wicomico
and Worcester Counties, the Trial Magistrates shall have
concurrent jurisdiction with the Circuit Court of each of
the respective counties to try persons violating the provi-
sions of this sub-title. And further provided, that in Alle-
gany County the Justice of the Peace, known as the Magis-
trate for Juvenile Cases, shall have concurrent jurisdiction
with the Circuit Court of said County to try persons vio-
lating the provisions of this sub-title and that imprison-
ment of offenders shall not exceed two years.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 89 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1947 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Desertion of Wife or Child, " as
amended by Chapter 344 of the Acts of 1949, relating
to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate for Juvenile Cases
in Washington County in cases involving the desertion
or the wilful neglect of a wife or minor child or children.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 89 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Desertion of Wife or Child, " as amended
