sub-title "Eastern, " be and the same is hereby repealed,
and a new Section 199 be and the same is hereby enacted
in lieu thereof to read as follows:

199. The books of the Town Clerk shall be examined at
least once each year, immediately after the close of the
fiscal year ended December 31. This examination shall be
conducted by a competent Certified Public Accountant of
the State of Maryland appointed by the Mayor and Council.
This Certified Public Accountant shall make a complete
audit of all cash records, vouchers, books and papers of
record relating to the duties of the office of the Town
Clerk. The Certified Public Accountant shall then prepare
a written report on such examination in which shall be
stated his opinion of the financial condition of the Town
and of the activities of the Town Clerk in the performance
of his duties.

Upon the delivery of the report of the Certified Public
Accountant to the Mayor and Council, the Town Clerk
shall arrange to have it published, together with the
Mayor's Annual Report.

At each monthly meeting of the Council, or as often as
required by them, the Town Clerk shall submit a state-
ment of nil operating expenses and all monies received and
disbursed during the preceding month, and showing the
balance on hand in each of the several funds.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
