CALVERT COUNTY,— The act of 1825, ch. 162,

extended to, and in operation in — sub-

ject to qualification,

The orphan's court of, to appoint

three commissioners of primary schools

in each district,

And to fill up vacancies therein from

time to time,

Oath required of said commissioners,

"

Penalty for neglecting duties, &c.

All the school funds of, placed under

the control of the orphan's court of,

The power vested by the original act

in the taxable inhabitants of the several

school districts, hereby vested in the

free white male citizens of the county,

over 21 years of age, actual residents

of, and taxable in the said districts re-

spectively,

"

Taxes levied under the original act,

shall be levied agreeable to the assess-

ment of the last proceeding county tax,

"

The inhabitants of any school district

in, so qualified, &c. shall have power to

vote a tax on the property of such dis-

trict, to pay the teacher, &c.

In cases of land in a school district,

chargeable for tax under the act of 1825,

or of this act, and no personal property

to be found by the collector, he shall re-

turn to the trustees of such district a

list thereof, &c.

"

The said trustees thereupon, vested

with all the powers for collecting, &c.

which commissioners of the tax of any

county have for collecting, &c. under

the act of 1797, ch. 90,

The collector of such school district

invested with all the powers of a county

collector in such cases,

The original act declared to be a pub-

lic and remedial act, not to be set aside

for want of form, &c.
