BALTIMORE CITY,— The government with the ad-

vice of the senate shall appoint two per-

sons in each ward, as registers of voters,

"

Said registers shall annually open

books, in which the names of every per-

son who shall prove &c., to said registers

that he is or will be entitled to vote at

the next election &c., and who may apply

to said registers for that purpose, shall

be. registered,

"

Said registers on or before the 1st

September annually, shall make out from

said book a list alphabetically arranged,

stating their wards, and publish the

same, and affix copies thereof in at least

ten public places in each ward,

"

Five days before the election, said re-

gisters shall meet and set publicly in

their respective wards, for examination

of said lists,

"

Shall furnish the judges of elections

with the lists, of their respective wards

under oath,

"

Shall add the names of all qualified

voters thereto,

"

"

Safely keep the same till the day of

election,

"

"

And before the opening of the polls,

on the morning of election, deliver them

to the judges duly attested,

"

"

Said list shall be deemed and taken

to be the only and conclusive evidence

of the qualification of the voters;

"

"

On proof to the judges that the name

of a person not qualified to vote is insert-

ed on said list, they shall erase the same,

"

In case a voter shall remove out of a

ward where his name has been enrolled,

he shall retain his right to vote in said

ward and no other,

Written statement, on oath, required

of that fact,

Said registers shall set from the 1st to

the 15th September, to register votes,
