LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 320.

ring, one gill of molasses, one pint of potatoes or other
vegetables, with soup, and a proper allowance of rye
coffee, lea and salt. The Physician may vary the diet
when necessary. The cooking and the refectory shall
be regulated by the Board of Directors; but no prison-
er shall receive any thing but the prison allowance.

Rules and regu-
lations.

The Board of Directors shall make all rules and regu-
lations to enforce obedience, order and discipline
among the convicts that may be necessary, in addition
to those herein prescribed; and shall cause this act and
all the piles that may he adopted from time to time, to
be printed for the information and direction of the offi-
cers. And the officers shall not enforce any order, or
principle of discipline, unless the same be made pre-
viously a part of the rules and regulations, and com-
municated to them as such.

Various arts,
&c. repealed.

SEC. 27. And be it enacted, That the following acts
and parts of acts, and all other acts and parts of acts
that are inconsistent with any thing contained in this
act, be and the same are hereby repealed, viz: — Sec-
tions twenty-eight to fifty-one, inclusive of the act of
eighteen hundred and nine, chapter one hundred and
thirty-eight; the acts of eighteen hundred and nine,
chapter two hundred; of eighteen hundred and eleven,
chapter one hundred and seventy-seven; of June the
eighteenth, eighteen hundred and twelve, chapter four;
of eighteen hundred and twelve, chapter one hundred
and forty-eight; of eighteen hundred and thirteen,
chapter sixty-nine, section first; of the act of eighteen
hundred and seventeen, chapter seventy-two; the acts
of eighteen hundred and twenty-one, chapter one hun-
dred and ninety-three; of eighteen hundred and twenty
two, chapter one hundred and thirty-four; of eighteen
hundred and thirty-three, chapter two hundred and six;
sections third, seventh, tenth, eleventh of the act of
eighteen hundred and twenty-six, chapter two hun-
dred and twenty-nine; sections fourth, fifth, sixth of
the act of eighteen hundred and twenty-seven, chapter
thirty-seven; section fifth of the act of eighteen hundred
and twenty-seven, chapter one hundred and fifty-four;
the acts of eighteen hundred and twenty-eight, chapter
sixty-five; of eighteen hundred and thirty, chapter
twelve; section seventh of the act of eighteen hundred
