CHAP. 34.

or persons having so transferred or assigned the whole
of his, her or their stock in said company shall ipso
facto erase to be a member or president or director of
said company, as the case may be.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That the company here-
by incorporated, shall not he construed to have power
to establish mills or manufactories or to carry on mil-
ling or manufacturing as herein before provided for,
except within the limits of Leonardtown aforesaid.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
contained shall be construed to confer upon said com-
pany, banking privileges or the powers to issue any
note in the form of a bank note or certificate payable
to bearer.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That this act shall con-
tinue and be in force until the first day of January,
eighteen hundred and sixty, and until the end of
the first session of the General Assembly, which shall
happen thereafter.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John Lewis, jun., Nathaniel Cox,
George F. Sloan, William E. Whitson, and their asso-
ciates, successors and assigns, be and they are hereby
created a corporation and body politic, by the name

dain and establish such by-laws and regulations, not
